This full design and build refurbishment project in Richmond delivers a contemporary, light-filled family home while respecting the character of the original property. The brief focused on improving flow, maximising natural light, and creating a seamless connection between living spaces and the garden.

This Richmond refurbishment showcases our end-to-end design and build service, managing everything from concept and planning through to construction, finishes, and final detailing—delivering a high-quality result tailored to modern family living.

The existing garage was converted into a fully integrated living space, enhancing the overall functionality and usable area of the home. To maximise natural light, a new window was introduced within the former garage door opening, bringing daylight into the space while maintaining a clean external appearance. The garage floor level was carefully lowered to align with the adjacent kitchen and dining areas, creating a seamless, level floor throughout the open-plan layout and significantly improving flow, accessibility, and visual continuity.

Interior Details

The project included a reconfigured ground floor layout, featuring a bespoke open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area. Large glazed doors and rooflights were introduced to flood the interior with daylight and enhance the indoor–outdoor experience. Clean architectural lines, neutral finishes, and carefully selected materials create a timeless and elegant aesthetic throughout.

A new layout was carefully reconfigured to maximise space and functionality, resulting in a well-balanced home that now includes two generously sized bedrooms. The principal bedroom benefits from a private en-suite bathroom, providing comfort and privacy, while a separate guest bathroom has been introduced to serve the second bedroom and visitors. This thoughtful arrangement enhances day-to-day living, improves circulation throughout the flat, and creates a clear distinction between private and shared spaces.

A bespoke kitchen installation was completed with high-quality cabinetry, integrated appliances, quartz worktops, and custom lighting, combining practicality with refined design. Engineered timber flooring runs consistently across the ground floor, adding warmth and continuity to the space.

A large rooflight above the staircase was introduced to transform the central circulation space, allowing natural daylight to flow through multiple levels of the home. This design feature enhances the sense of height and openness, reducing the need for artificial lighting while creating a bright and welcoming transition between floors. The rooflight also highlights the staircase detailing and contributes to the calm, contemporary atmosphere throughout the property.
